Tea for Two in the Dining Room
It’s always tea time ~ the Mad Hatter (Lewis Carroll)
It’s officially spring! Some glimpses of milder weather are on the horizon but the chilly days are not yet ‘last season’. The expression ‘en avril, ne te decouvre pas d’un fil‘ is quite fitting!
Staying warm with lots of tea lately. Brewing teapots full of spring tea selections with sweet floral and citrusy aromas and flavours. My current favourites range from a fresh mélange of rosehip, hibiscus and tropical fruit, to chamomile and lemongrass. This Japanese blossom cast iron teapot is perfect for springtime too, with its textural floral motif. I first saw this teapot while stopping in at a little café, Bread and Roses, just a few streets away from Le Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris. I admired the design then and when I came across another in a local shop I knew that I had to purchase it for my home. Everytime I use it, the teapot brings back sentimental memories of the trip.
Also for the shifting of the seasons, have brightened up the dining room with some bright yellow accents in shades of daffodil, canary, dandelion and citrine. The difference a little colour in a space can make is obvious when comparing the look of the dining room with alternate colour schemes in the A Table Set with Love series and in Simple and Fresh Holiday Dining Room. The canning jar full of vibrant blooms, the table linens and a throw blanket with yellow details add a spring feeling and sunshine to the room.
Cheers! Raising a teacup and wishing you a happy spring!
