Wine Tasting In Wine Country Day One
First on the list was a visit inspired by a memorable glass of wine tasted years ago. The vineyard was quite picturesque and it was hard to put down the camera. Set on a clay limestone hill in Prince Edward County, the mineral-driven site is home to the production of cool climate wine varieties including Pinot noir and Chardonnay.
The task at hand was to source a bottle of wine to enjoy later that evening with dinner, back in the town of Picton. We took this responsibility seriously and we carefully tasted the selections list in detail, noting that “life is short”! Although the focus was on the wine, from a design perspective, I loved the simplicity of the branding elements of the winery. I think the marketing pieces captured the low-key spirit felt on the grounds and perfectly recreated key visual elements from the winery’s unique architecture.
Remembering the present moment captured, sharing a glass of County Pinot Noir 2012 and an outdoor wood-fired margherita pizza. Outdoor patios and sunshine bring me to my happy place.
I always wonder what my life would be like in French.
