Winterberry Inspired Outdoor Holiday Décor
Looking forward to the holiday season, especially since the fall has been so busy. As I put the finishing touches on the seasonal plans for this year, I took a look back at my winterberry inspired outdoor holiday decorations from last December. I found this winterberry holly at one of my favourite local nursery and garden centres and it was jumping off point that I built the outdoor holiday scheme around.
Christmas lights are must, so I needed a way to work these onto the porch décor. I refreshed and incorporated an artificial garland from my collection. The garland is over a decade old and in its time was quite unique in its sparse, feathery, natural look. I added red and white Christmas lights and hung the garland in the doorway to create the perfect holiday entranceway to my home. Of course, I cannot stop without accessorizing! A Fair Isle print natural coco doormat added in a fashion nod to holiday sweaters and also included my love of reindeer… they share such a similar silhouette with greyhounds, what more can I say?! The red woven felt wreath is undersized, but is balanced with the other elements. When entertaining during the holiday season, the lantern was always lit to create that cozy atmosphere I wanted my guests to feel as they arrived for a visit.
I always wonder what my life would be like in French.
